Bon South is not a new name. Quite a well known name among the many restaurants in Koramangala. But the fact that they serve South Indian food, in buffet, sets it apart.

The 3 Hungry Men visited the place when they had the Hyderabadi Fest going on. So there were special dishes like Haleem, Nizami Tangadi Kabab, Gosht Nihari and of course Hyderabadi Biryani. The festival had been extended a week after Ramzan on popular demand.

It is not surprising that they there was popular demand for the extension with dishes like Curd Atom Bomb, Malai Wings and the forever favourite Paddus.

Bon South’s biggest plus point is the numerous starters they have. Variety of options in both Veg and Non Veg. And not your usual run of the mill paneer tikkas or fruit Tandoori. Different things like cuppa semiya, dahi bhalla chaat in a form of a froyo that forms the curd atom bomb, gun powder idli. The chutneys with the Paddu make it a favourite among everyone.

The chicken starters were good with succulent meats but the seafood starters were a bit of a letdown, barring the andhra steam fish.

Coming to the main course, there is something from every South Indian State. Appam Stew(our favourite), Sambhar, Andhra Style Dal, Rasam, Biryanis. We of course got to have the Haleem as well that was quite well done.

All this does not leave much space for dessert but the elneer payasam and double ka meetha did us good. Other popular dishes are the sheer korma and coconut gulkand cake.

Bon South prides in having more Vegetarian customers visiting them. With the variety, the changes in menu and the retaining/bringing back of popular dishes, one is sure to be a satisfied customer.
