Bangalore is no stranger to RestoPubs and The 3 Hungry Men decided to venture into one. We visited Loveshack, a popular RestoPub right opposite The Mini Silicon Valley – EGL at Domlur. It is a rooftop Bar with shack like setting. It was Ladies night when we went, and Boy, was it crowded!
Luckily, we booked our table using the Dine Out App. Dine Out App is a table reservation app that makes your life a lot easier by providing online booking and purchase of tickets for events as well. Apart from easing your life for bookings, they also provide good discounts and cashback which can be redeemed for your future bookings. So the 10% discount they offer in Love Shack, was an added plus for the evening.
Given the non AC ambience and the crowd, we did feel a bit warm at the place, but the staff was courteous enough to set up a Table Fan for us that helped cool us down. That’s a plus as far as service is concerned. Once we were well settled, we started with the drinks menu.
The drinks menu had a variety of Sangrias, Cocktails and Mocktails. There were classic Cocktails as well as Cocktails with a Twist. We tried some new ones Mon Bella(Rum Based), Sinister sisters(Vodka based) and they were pretty good. Mocktails were well made too, except for the sweet lime which was a tad too sweet.
Coming to the food, they have recently enhanced menu, to a mix of Indian, Continental and Asian. From the veg menu, we tried Chilli Paneer, Corn and Cheese Balls, Jalapeno Cheese Croquettes and the Lumpia Spring Rolls. While the chilli paneer and the croquettes gave us nothing to complain about, the Lumpia Spring Rolls were so well made, they were our favourite starter for the day!
For Non-Veg we tried various dishes. Chicken Wings were good. Ham and cheese croquettes left us guessing for where or how many pieces of Ham were in it. Coorgi Pork was good, well made, but could have had a bit more pungency. There was Tempura Mutton Sheek which was basically a Fritter(pakoda) made with Mutton Sheek inside it. We quiet enjoyed the tasty Sheek and could have done without the Tempura Batter. There was Anjal Rava Fry, something that is irresistible to The 3 Hungry Men, and we ordered it twice. The first one was delicious which is why we went in for a second helping, but the second one was very less on salt.
The mains had the Shack Signature Chicken with Whole Leg of tandoori chicken served on a bed of creamy spinach sauce. The Shack Bowl was again a bowl of chicken topped with an egg. The chicken basically tasted like butter chicken. This was served with bread. We also tried the Goan Fish Curry with Rice. Nothing to rave or complain about. For the vegetarian, we were happy with Thai Veg Curry with rice.
Finally came the desserts and the one that would take home the prize would have to be the Apple crumble, the blueberry cheesecake is worth mention too.
All in all, Loveshack with its events(the very popular Karaoke Night), gives you a destination for having a good time with some well made fun drinks and some good food to boot. Enjoyable music(that sometimes can get a too loud), good service will keep you appeased. And with the Dine Out app, you are assured of a table, good 10% discount and Cashback!
