No surprises for guessing this is an Italian Restaurant.  They have recently moved to a new location and the ambiance at this place gives you quite a Rustic feel, in a good way.  As though you are actually sitting at a Street Cafe in Italy and Wining & Dining.  At the new location, they now have ample parking space and outdoor seating.  The Manager there tells us, the outside space in future would be used to have open air barbecue and that will definitely bring in more customers.

This place is quite popular.  When we landed there for our meal, we were told only 2 tables were available.  A packed restaurant was a sign of good food coming our way.  The menu is quite vast with ample choice for vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.  The prices aren’t too exorbitant.  But what interested us was their Sunday Brunch as well as the Plated meals concept that they have.  You get a portion of 3 different appetizers, mains and desserts and this deal works out very well.  And for pizza lovers, they offer a wide variety of Pizza too.  And they are favourite among the crowd.

We were welcomed with freshly baked warm bread served with garlic mayo and tomato salsa.  Mayo was quite garlicky (not complaining) and the salsa was refreshing.  From the bar, we ordered the Sauvignon Blanc (Indian) which was light and refreshing and blended the food that was served.

Coming to Starters, in vegetarian we were served Insalata di ferro – a lettuce salad with grapes, raisins, nuts, pears, goat cheese topped with Balsamic Vinaigrette, Panzerottis – deep fried savoury puff pastry stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese served with spicy tomato and pesto sauce, and Fried Mozzarella.  Salad could do with a bit more dressing, which was the case with the non-veg salad as well.  The Panzerottis were well made and delicious.  And who doesn’t love cheese?  Especially fried cheese!

The Non-Veg starter plate apart from Smoked chicken salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette had Italian Flavoured Chicken Wings and Grilled Prawns with Mustard Dressing.  The Wings were delish!  The Italian seasonings on it were bang on.  The grilled prawns had nothing to complain about.

The mains were served to us in similar fashion.  In fact, the portions served were just right.  We couldn’t think of a better way to try out as many dishes as we could.  In Veg we had Penne Pasta with Arrabiata Sauce and in Non Veg we had Farfalle Pasta in White Sauce served with chicken.  Both good.  The other dishes in Veg platter were Lasagna and Spinach & Ricotta Cheese Ravioli served again in Red sauce.  Though the ravioli reminded us of the Panzerottis, they were nonetheless well made.

In non-veg we had Chicken Scallopini and Fish in Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce.  The Sauce with the fish was just right.  The Chicken was well cooked and it came with tomato tartar on top that gave the chicken dish the required zing.  We also tried the Beef Fillet cooked in Red Wine Reduction and this is one dish where you need to specify if you want your fillet well done or medium rare.  Nonetheless, it did not disappoint.  The beef was well done and it tasted very good with the red wine reduction.

The desserts stole the show that day!  We were served a portion each of Chocolate Lasagne (yes, you read that right!), Mango Panna Cotta and Almond Semifreddo.  Each dessert surpassed the other.  The chocolate lasagne was, as you might have guessed, layered dark and white chocolate that tasted great.  The almond semifreddo was a delight.  The textures of both the Semifreddo and Panna Cotta were bang on.  The Panna Cotta was nice and wobbly and the Mango flavour was really coming through.  Our palettes and tummies could not have been happier.

Via Milano, true to its name made us feel like we had just passed through the Italian city.  The amazing flavours, well cooked meats, pizzas and desserts are more than anything an Italian food fan can ask for.

Spoilt for choice in the menu, this place is a must visit.  Do remember to make reservations and ask them about their platted buffet/meal!

Location: Via Milano, 152, 1st Cross, 1st Block Koramangala, Parallel to Sarjapur Road (Near Bandhan Bank), HSR Layout 5th Sector, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560034
