Ideal Café – The Veg paradise After all the non veg snacking like especially shawarmas, we wanted some change so we decided to head out to ideals café and go for something vegetarian to snack on!

Located just off K.S Rao Road is Ideals Café. We were welcomed to a new system of Token self service which honestly we liked as it was not so common in Mangalore . the Ambience is pretty decent and the place is spotless!

We ordered many items on the menu since it was about 7ish so we thought we might as well have our dinner!

Here is what we felt about the dishes ordered in order

First up was the 3 in 1 masala dosa! This was no ordinary dosa! It had a normal patato bhaji, Paneer bhaji and mushroom bhaji. This was quite a surprise. But ultimately this is a cunning dosa because at the end you wish had more of each bhaji.

Next up was the veg Burger. This burger we must warn you is extremely tasty! One of the best veg burgers in mangalore. A crispy and tasty veg patty overloaded with some smooth schezuvan mayo and light veggies. This 1 is pretty filling mind you.

To wash all this down we had and orange juice, mocha shake, and mango smoothie. These drink were extremely smooth and must try!

Then we went for some main course. We ordered a north indian thali, and soya ghee roast with neer dosa and pav bhaji!

The north Indian thali is a common mans treat. You get a bhatura, chole, pulav, samosa and a big glass of lassi all for only 75 rs! And authentic north Indian stuff at that!

The soya ghee roast with neer dosa cost the same and was equally tasty! Then came the pav bhaji! Which was nice but only for those who haven’t tasted the real deal from the streets! This is a strict NO for those who know the real taste of pav bhaji!

Then we suddenly noticed this unique sandwhich called “The Machine Gun” and before you know it, that gun was on our table! But sadly the only thing interesting was the name. the sandwhich was purely disappointing. It was nothing but French fries, schezwan mayo and garlic powder in a hot dog roll! You can give this a pass.

Moving on to desert. We ordered A tiramisu, Chocolate dad and a scoop of Belgian Chocolate ice cream.

All of these deserts no doubt are Indian adaptations of the original (except chocolate dad!) but we guarantee you that the taste won’t disappoint you. Each one of these deserts are rich in their own way and are a must try whenever you are at Ideals!

Affordable, tasty, yummy, awesome are all synonyms for Ideals Café. We suggest you to come here at least once if you haven’t you will leave with a smile on your face!

Ideals has branches all over Mangalore at Hampankatta, Empire Mall, City Centre, M.G Road (Pabba’s) (but the above mentioned snack items are only available at Ideals Café off K.S Rao Road)

The Ideal’s at Market Road also boasts of being THE LARGEST ICE CREAM PARLOR IN INDIA (with a seating capacity of 300)

Location: Ideal Cafe, Hampankatta, Mangalore, Karnataka
