Hi Bar was one of Mangalore‘s best Lounges! The sheer interiors and feel was a class apart. But as usual many complained about the rates and slow service.

Keeping this in mind, the management refurbished and revamped the place to a fresh new start.

Say hello to ‘Thirsty Turtle‘ one of Mangalore‘s finest terrace lounge. You are welcomed with a fine ambience and also a terrace/smoking area with high chairs and sofas. Inside is the non-smoking area with good music played and yes this time its not too loud. You can actually have a comfortable conversation.

Now the best part of this place according to us the new menu which boasts of continental food from all around the world and our local delicacies too.

We started off with a round of drinks. The Cranberry Mojito was a bit too sour but the other Cocktails were just fantastic. Do try the Carioca for a change and not to mention the Margaritas.

Down to the food, we ordered Jah Mans Chicken which is deep fried strips with Jamaican seasoning. This one is a must try for the spice lovers. If you fancy fish then you must try Walk the plank which is seasoned fish cakes. Vegetarians can go for the stuffed mushrooms deep fried.

For the main course they have a limited but very fulfilling variety. Try the Immigrants Favourite (Mac n Cheese) this is perhaps one of the best available in Mangalore. You can also try the Subjects Favourite. Its sausages served on a bed of sweet mashed potato. Something unique and filling. The range of pastas are excellent too. Stay away from the roasted chicken as you may not fancy the boiled chicken taste

If you’re in the mood for something between buns, go for the burgers. The Lamburgini (Lamb), Hotato (Veg) and Blistering Barnacle (Chicken) burgers are all out of this world and extremely filling.

Special mention goes out to the Namma Bites section. We tried the Chicken and Prawns Ghee Roast, Pomfret Tawa Fry and Anjal Masala Fry. All of the above were phenomenal. Must try items.

For all the thirsty men n out here. They have a special weekday Alcohol menu in which the rates are unbelievably cheap. see it to believe it.

All in all we can fairly say that this place has won our hearts all over again.

You must come to Thirsty Turtle and feel the change.

Stay Hungry! Stay Happy!
